If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:5, KJV
It’s bedtime. I check the baby’s diapers before placing them to slumber. The diapers seem ok. I put the baby in the crib, and I go to bed as well. Morning comes, and I feel well-rested. I am prepared to meet the new day. I look, and the baby’s awake. I pick the baby up, and they are wet. The diaper leaked during the night. The clothes are wet, the mattress is wet, and so are the sheets. I sigh and gather everything to place in the washer. I have to clean quickly because I need to get ready for work. As I remove the sheets from the bed, I realize the plastic sheet covering the mattress is askew. The mattress is soaked in pee! I groan out loud; I will be late for work. I quickly scrub the mattress, and the sheets go into the washer.

Could any of this have been avoided? Maybe? Maybe not? This is just one of those moments where we have to prepare for whatever situation we face. Yes, we can put safeguards like a diaper or a plastic sheet. But sometimes they fail us. They are man-made, after all. God doesn’t fail us. God can keep us anchored and prepared for anything.
Today, make a conscious decision to place God in all your decision-making. Doing this will prepare you for whatever comes your way spiritually, physically, emotionally, or financially.
